Pricing and billing FAQ
Simple answers about plans, credits, usage, and billing. If your signed agreement with SOAX differs from this FAQ, the agreement applies.
A paid plan gives you the features, limits, and usage rates shown for that plan.
It also includes the prepaid credits shown on the pricing page. We add them after your first successful payment and each successful renewal.
No. Sandbox is our no-commitment option. It has no subscription fee and includes no credits. You can buy top-up credits as needed and test SOAX at Sandbox rates and limits.
Credits are prepaid usage units. You use one prepaid credit balance across all SOAX products available to your account.
As a rough guide, one credit usually represents about $1 of usage. This is a pricing reference, not a cash value. Your plan lists the usage rates, and checkout shows the actual price of top-up credits. Credits cannot be withdrawn or transferred to another account.
A seat is one person's login to your SOAX account. The account owner uses one seat. You can add members up to your plan's seat limit.
A proxy package lets you separate and control proxy access for a team, project, or use case. Each package has its own authentication, routing, access rules, limits, and usage tracking. Every proxy request runs through one package. Your plan sets how many packages you can create.
Proxy usage is charged in credits based on how much data is transferred. The rate depends on your plan and the geo tier of the egress IP. On Enterprise Monthly, it also depends on the current volume band.
The egress IP is the proxy IP that connects to the destination. Its country determines the geo tier. Neither your location nor the destination's location affects the geo tier.
We count data in both directions, including partial responses, retries, and interrupted connections. One GB is one billion bytes.
SOAX groups countries into three geo tiers based on the cost of serving each market. Tier 1 has the highest rates, tier 2 has lower rates, and tier 3 has the lowest rates.
For example, the United States is in tier 1 and India is in tier 2. If everything else is the same, proxy traffic costs more through a US egress IP than through one in India. This reflects differences in network supply and operating costs between countries.
You pay the monthly plan fee upfront. We add the included credits after payment succeeds.
We track usage separately for each geo tier during every monthly billing period. Each geo tier has three volume bands. The rate for each GB depends on how much traffic you have already used in that tier during the period.
For example, suppose that during one billing period you use a combined 20 TB through egress IPs in Germany and the United States, plus 16 TB through egress IPs in the Philippines.
Germany and the United States are both in tier 1, so we combine that traffic. We charge the first 5 TB at 0.85 credits/GB, the next 10 TB at 0.75 credits/GB, and the remaining 5 TB at 0.50 credits/GB.
The Philippines is in tier 3, so we calculate that traffic separately. We charge the first 5 TB at 0.35 credits/GB, the next 10 TB at 0.30 credits/GB, and the remaining 1 TB at 0.25 credits/GB.
Usage in one geo tier does not affect the others. Within a tier, a lower rate applies only after your usage reaches the next band. It does not change the rate charged for earlier traffic. Every tier starts again at the first band in the next billing period. Check the pricing page (https://soax.com/pricing) for the bands and rates that apply to your plan.
Usually not. We are a lean team, and we value your time as much as our own, so we keep sales out of the way unless it can actually help. Our self-service prices are public, and you can get started without navigating a sales maze. We do not inflate prices just to unveil a dramatic discount after a few calls. On Enterprise Monthly, lower rates apply automatically as your usage moves through the volume bands.
Sales is useful when the setup needs to change, not just the number on the quote. Contact us (support@soax.com) when you need Enterprise Annual or have commercial or technical requirements our standard plans do not cover.
Usage follows your plan's standard rates. Bulk purchases of top-up credits may qualify for a small discount.
Tell us what you are building, your expected volume, the countries you need, and any setup requirements. We will quickly tell you whether we can help.
Enterprise Annual is our only plan that is not available through self-service. It is for established businesses that rely on SOAX in production and have large, ongoing, predictable usage.
Business verification and a signed agreement are required. The plan has a 12-month commitment. We invoice the plan fee in advance, and your agreement sets when payment is due.
When you sign, each geo tier is set to the lowest Enterprise Monthly band rate available at that time. That rate applies from the first GB in the tier, so monthly volume bands do not apply. Your agreement lists the rates and how long they stay fixed.
The agreement may also include tailored invoicing and payment terms, postpaid overage, account limits, technical setup, support, and service commitments.
If this fits, contact us (support@soax.com) with your use case, expected volume, the countries you need, and any setup requirements.
Credits are added to your prepaid credit balance in separate blocks. Each block has its own expiry date, which does not change.
Credits added on Sandbox or a monthly plan expire 60 days after they are added. Credits added on an annual plan expire 12 months after they are added.
Renewing, changing, or cancelling your plan does not change the expiry dates of credits already in your balance. If credits are available in several unexpired blocks, we use the block that expires first.
Yes. You can buy top-up credits on any plan, including Sandbox. The price is shown before you pay.
Each purchase creates a new credit block. Its expiry date is determined by the plan you are on when the credits are added. Credits already in your balance keep their expiry dates.
Without postpaid billing, usage stops when your available prepaid credit balance reaches zero. Buy top-up credits to continue.
Yes, for approved business accounts. Postpaid billing is off by default. We enable it only after we verify your business and agree in writing on the rates and payment terms for usage beyond your prepaid credit balance.
With postpaid billing, you can keep using SOAX after your prepaid credit balance reaches zero. We invoice that additional usage monthly at the agreed rates and under the agreed payment terms. Plan fees remain prepaid and are not part of postpaid billing. Contact us (support@soax.com) if you need it.
For self-service plans, you pay the plan fee upfront. Your plan starts when payment succeeds. Monthly plans renew on their billing date each month. If a month has no matching date, renewal falls on its last day, but your usual billing date does not change. Annual plans renew every 12 months.
At renewal, we add included credits only after payment succeeds. If the renewal payment is not completed, paid access ends and your account moves to Sandbox. You can keep using unexpired credits at Sandbox rates and limits.
An upgrade starts as soon as payment of the price difference shown at checkout succeeds. Your billing date does not change.
A downgrade takes effect at the end of your current paid period. Until then, your current plan stays active.
Existing credits keep their expiry dates. After the change, all usage follows the new plan's rates, features, and limits.
For a self-service plan, cancelling stops the next renewal. Your paid plan stays active until the current paid period ends. Your account then moves to Sandbox.
Unused time is not refunded. You can keep using unexpired credits at Sandbox rates and limits. If you close your SOAX account instead, you lose any remaining credits.
We accept most major credit and debit cards. The methods available to you are shown at checkout.
Bank transfer may be available for approved business accounts. Contact us (support@soax.com) if you need it.
Payments are in USD unless another currency is shown. Your bank or payment provider may charge transaction or currency conversion fees.
Published prices exclude taxes unless stated otherwise. We use your billing location and tax details to calculate and add any VAT, sales tax, GST, or similar tax we must collect.
If your business qualifies for reverse charge and you provide a valid VAT or tax ID, we do not add VAT. Your business handles the VAT under its local tax rules. If the ID is missing or cannot be validated, we may add the applicable tax.
If the tax amount looks wrong, contact us (support@soax.com). Include your billing country and tax ID, and we will review the calculation and correct it if needed.
Open Settings → Billing in the dashboard. We also send invoices, receipts, and credit notes by email when they are issued.
Yes. In Settings → Billing, add one or more additional invoice email addresses under Billing information. Separate multiple addresses with commas. We will send invoices, receipts, and credit notes to those addresses as well.
Payments for plans, top-up credits, and postpaid overage are generally non-refundable. Exceptions may apply under our Billing and Refund Policy
If a charge looks wrong, contact us (support@soax.com) and we will investigate it.
