Frequently asked questions

Why would I need to check a proxy?

You might need to test a proxy to make sure it's working right and giving you the performance you want. You can check different aspects, such as:

  1. Checking Speed: A slow proxy can make pages load slowly or even time out. Testing helps you make sure the proxy is fast enough for your browsing or data transfer needs.
  2. Geolocation Accuracy: If you're using a proxy to access content specific to a region, testing will check if the proxy correctly routes your traffic through the desired location.

By testing your proxy, you can avoid performance issues and make sure it filter out the ones that aren't working before you start using them.

Why is my proxy not working?

There can be several reasons why your proxy isn't working. Here are some common ones:

  1. Incorrect proxy settings: Make sure you’ve entered the right proxy IP address and port number in your network or browser settings. If there's a typo or mistake, the proxy won’t connect.
  2. Proxy server down: The proxy server you’re trying to use might be temporarily down or experiencing high traffic. In these cases, the proxy might not be accessible.
  3. Authentication issues: Some proxies need login credentials (username and password). If the credentials are wrong or expired, the proxy won’t work.
  4. IP blocked by target website: Some websites block traffic from known proxy IP addresses. If your proxy is on a blacklist, the site may not load.
  5. Firewall or security settings: Your firewall, antivirus, or network security settings might be blocking proxy connections. Try adjusting these settings or whitelisting the proxy server to fix the issue.
  6. Network or ISP restrictions: Some networks or ISPs block the use of proxies. If you're on a restricted network, you might need to check with your ISP or network administrator.
  7. IP whitelisting:
If you're using IP whitelisting in SOAX, the proxy checker can't check your proxies since it's IP is not whitelisted
  8. Wrong proxy format:
Double check if you're using the right format. Accepted formats are:
    domain:port
    domain,port
    domain:port:login:pass
    domain,port,login,pass
    login:pass@domain:port

Testing your proxy with different websites or devices can help you figure out the problem more effectively.

What is the limit for this proxy checker?

Our proxy checker lets you test up to 50 proxies at once. This limit helps keep things running smoothly and gives you accurate results without overloading the system. If you have more than 50 proxies to test, you can just run multiple batches to check them all efficiently.

How do I quickly test a proxy?

You can quickly test a proxy by adding ?p=[proxy] to the end of the page URL, which will automatically start the testing process.

For example, if your proxy needs a username and password, you would format it like this:

?p=username:password@proxyip:port

So, if your username is user123, your password is pass456, the proxy IP is 123.45.67.89, and the port is 8080, you would add this to the URL:

?p=user123:pass456@123.45.67.89:8080

This way, you can start the proxy test quickly without having to manually enter the proxy details into the tool.
