SOAX is distributed web access infrastructure. This policy describes what responsible operation looks like from that starting point.
Environmental sustainability
Distributed resources, not new infrastructure. SOAX runs on contracted, verified idle capacity that already exists rather than building new infrastructure. The marginal energy cost of our traffic on an already-running device is a fraction of what equivalent centralized infrastructure would consume. This is the environmental logic of distributed architecture: we make use of what exists.
Control plane. For the infrastructure we operate directly (our control plane, coordination layer, and developer surfaces), we favour providers with credible energy-efficiency or renewable-energy commitments, and factor this into procurement decisions.
Remote operations. We don't operate physical offices. That removes a meaningful class of energy and waste from the picture. We encourage responsible home-office energy use and hardware disposal among our team.
Social responsibility
How we work. We're a fully distributed, fully remote company operating a four-day work week. Building this way means access to good work isn't gated by geography. We invest in the practices, tooling, and culture that make distributed teams work well over the long run.
Employee well-being. We provide a safe, inclusive work environment and invest in diversity, equal opportunity, and ongoing development for everyone on the team.
Community engagement. We support the communities our team members live and work in through local initiatives, volunteer programs, and charitable contributions.
Ethical governance
What we do and what we don't. SOAX provides infrastructure for accessing publicly available web content. We enforce hard limits against facilitating access to protected resources: loginwalled content, paywalled services, licensed databases, or private user data. These limits are contractual, not aspirational.
Network participants. Our network runs on capacity from participants who have opted in and retain the right to opt out. On the customer side, access is governed by our Acceptable Use Policy and KYC / KYB Policy.
Supplier relations. We maintain fair, ethical relationships with suppliers and promote fair labor standards throughout our supply chain.
Continuous improvement
We monitor our CSR performance, set improvement targets, and report transparently to stakeholders. We engage actively with employees, suppliers, and local communities, and update this policy as our understanding and practices evolve.
Our privacy practices, data processing terms, and sub-processor governance are covered in our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement.
We recognise that how we operate has an impact beyond our balance sheet. This policy reflects our current commitments.
