As of 2022, people are uploading 500 hours of content to YouTube every minute. That's adding about 1250 days' worth of videos every hour, or about 82 years of content a day
In 2007, only 6 hours of content were uploaded every minute. Fast forward to 2022, and it's jumped to 500 hours. That's an 8,233% increase over 15 years
The biggest spike happened between 2013 and 2014. During that year, uploads went from 100 hours to 300 hours per minute, which is a 200% increase
Between 2012 and 2015, the upload rate more than quintupled, jumping from 60 hours per minute in January 2012 to 400 hours per minute by July 2015
Even though uploads grew fast in earlier years, they leveled off from May 2019 to June 2022 at 500 hours per minute, showing a slowdown in growth during that time
The smallest amount of content uploaded per minute was back in 2007, with just 6 hours per minute

South Korea is at the top when it comes to YouTube usage, with people spending an average of 44 hours and 49 minutes on the platform each month
Thailand comes in second, with 41 hours and 28 minutes of YouTube time per month, which is about 47% more than the global average
In Russia, people spend 38 hours and 51 minutes on YouTube each month
In India, users are on YouTube for 29 hours and 8 minutes per month
The worldwide average for time spent on YouTube is 28 hours and 05 minutes
Meanwhile, in the U.S.A., it's lower, with the U.S.A. at 26 hours and 20 minutes, roughly 6% below the global average
Japan is pretty too, with an average of 33 hours and 42 minutes per month, beating out other developed countries like Germany (15H 10M) and France (16H 50M).
People in the Philippines spend over 32 hours a month on YouTube, making it one of the top Asian countries for time spent on the platform.
Switzerland has the lowest YouTube time at 9 hours and 41 minutes a month
In Latin America, countries like Brazil and Mexico show moderate engagement, with 22 hours and 38 minutes and 21 hours and 4 minutes of YouTube use per month, respectively
